HEAD COACHES:
As we are nearing the end of the season, we need to think about player evaluations. We are using a new tool this year which is more detailed, but will aid us in the draft process. The better information we have regarding the players, the better the drafts will be. This will give us more parity across the league. Please use this form (2009 JAYLL Player Evaluation Form). It has an example filled out which should help you. There are also instructions at the bottom of the page. You can also download the example here. We are asking that everyone use the excel version so we are able to merge it into our database. If you do not have Excel, please work with your other coaches. Please forward the completed file to jayll_reg@yahoo.com no later than 7/25. Please contact Ryan Redfern or Adam Baker if you have any questions on the form. Thank you
PARENTS:
Please welcome Josh Sandleback as our new equipment coordinator. Josh will be taking over at the end of the season for Scott Rudd. Scott has helped the league for countless years and we wish Scott a happy retirement from the league.
An Important message to all:
We as a league have built a reputation for providing a nice blend of sportsmanship, organization, and competition. This has been done through a network of dedicated volunteers who give freely of their time, but this league will not have several of these volunteers for much longer. We are coming to you, the parents, to step up and get involved in the process of keeping this league viable. You don't necessarily need to get on the board (but we need those positions filled too), but maybe you can help get a field or two ready on a day when it rains, often times we have to cancel games due to the fact that we do not have the bodies to get them ready on time.Perhaps you can help maintain our flower beds or the foul lines, we always need people to help clean and take garbage to the dump. Please call 262-305-4994 to get plugged in to the organization.
We are looking for quality people to help fill board positions for the 2010 season. Please call 262-305-4994 if you would like to help.
Coaches:
The objective of kids pitch at Rookies is to get the 8 year olds used to throwing to batters, and they should be the main children pitching. If you have a talented 7 year old feel free to let them pitch. Please remember that we are trying to ensure the success of all the players as they move on in their baseball careers. At the end of every season we have a coaches meeting, if you have things you want to see changed, please make an effort to attend this meeting.
